Lotis
From the manga Alice 19th, spiritual words. There are 24 words total (notice this is the same number as the runes of the Elder Futhark (though may or may not be coincidence). They are words that draw on the power of
life. The history is given in volume 3. Lotsuan was a man with features of all races of the world. Upon absorbing the life force of the universe, he
placed the holy powers into words (Na sadaru lotis ran), the 24 words or characters of lotis. He traveled and took ten disciples who spread
throughout the world to teach as masters in each part of the world. But with light, so must also be dark, and one master turned from Lotis and
developed worlds of darkness, the Maram. A battle rages between the two for humanity. But there is a prophecy that if mara run rampant and
the word of lotis is no longer heard then lotis masters will awaken and with them will come the "lost word." The background of course is much like
the history of popular religions such as Christianity, Buddhism, etc.
